Effectively manage all staff, technical and other resources
to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
I have published my first book "Building Hope."
Caught in a dysfunctional and broken educational system, Seaira barely survives each mind-numbing day of classes where it seems most teachers don’t care and everyone has just forgotten about Providence students and the ineffective education they are receiving. Homelessness, gangs, guns, poverty, random and arbitrary rules – all take their toll on students’ sense of safety and their ability to learn. The endless grind and the daily reality of a system that does not meet her needs threaten her self-worth and her future. When politicians begin to make changes to improve her school, she can barely believe it and is afraid to hope. Would the changes really happen? If they did happen, would they stick? Or would this next cycle of “improving education” just fade away with the next election?

I have been committed to ensuring excellence in education my entire career. During my time as a classroom teacher, department chair, Director of IT and as an acting director for a Center for Teaching and Learning, I have worked tirelessly to ensure excellence in teaching and learning.
I have two teaching awards to my credit - one from administrators and one from students. While both are meaningful to me, guess which one I value more?
